Today is our first day of school, and I’m feeling good about this year. This year, I will continue to have Form I and Form II students. For that reason, I have reluctantly had to modify our school.
Below, I will share how I plan to modify our homeschool for my students.
Change number one: Students will do separate core lessons
I wanted my children to do the same core lesson, but I've come to realize that is not fair to one student or another. This year, we will separate for Natural History. We will use audiobooks to help with the reading.
Change number two: Personalized daily schedules
Rather than me writing the schedule on the board, each student will have a typed-out schedule that goes on the cover of their Morning Time folder. This allows them to practice reading for the little ones and take responsibility for their school tasks.
Change number three: Type out the weekly schedule
I used to type out my lesson plans, but stopped. This year I intend to keep up with my schedule in a typed out manner and keep it in the front pocket of my Morning Time folder.
What changes are you making this school year?
