Dear Mother-Teacher,
Loops are subjects we do weekly. They are a great way to cover all the subjects in one week. I have multiple loops based on the topic.
Today, I’m going to share how I add subjects to my schedule.
Bible
Typically, we study the Bible two days a week, followed by a devotional on one day and apologetics on the fourth day.
Arts and Morality
I’m starting to alternate Spanish and Poetry, followed by Art Study, Music Study, Shakespeare, and tales. Finally, we finish the block with morality. This includes reading the story of C.S. Lewis by Leah Boden, Habit Training (twice a week), and Ourselves by Charlotte Mason.
History and Science
I have tried to include both topics daily, but it is too much. It is much easier for me to focus on one subject per day. Here is how I’m looping the topics this term: Monday, Geography; Tuesday, Natural History; Wednesday, Middle Ages; and Thursday, General Science.
Fridays are reserved for our homeschool group.
Looping all topics helps me keep homeschooling fresh. I find the kids look forward to the days based on the subjects they are learning about.
How does looping help your homeschool day?
Yours faithfully,
P.S.
