Sunday Planning Vol. 1
This week, we are sectioning our day into chunks and categories.
Dear Mama,
It is my desire that you are off to a slow and peaceful Advent. I have been wanting to create a weekly email to help you plan out your week for a while. I love lesson planning and setting up my calendar, so my wish is that this Sunday Planning newsletter be a guide to you.
Happy planning,
Mirley
This Week’s Notebooking Tip
Pick one or two subjects to begin notebooking. History and Science are a great start.
The right-hand side is for the narration and illustration
The left-hand side is for extras like charts, poems, etc.
Simplify, Organize, Beautify Your Life
Do one cleaning task a day or batch cleaning once a day during the week.
For example:
Monday - dust furniture
Tuesday - bathrooms
Wednesday - sheets
Thursday - floors
Friday - groceries/errands
Weekends Off
Laundry daily, except weekends, or batch it three times a week (Monday, Wednesday, Friday).
Plan Out Your Week
For the homeschool:
Section off your planner by school topics, not school subjects. For example:
Benediction Table (Bible, Verse/Catechism, Hymn)
Beauty & Morality (Art, Composer, Fables & Tales/Shakespeare, Folk Songs, Citizenship/Plutarch)
Read Aloud
Main Subjects (History, Geography, Spanish, Science)
Enrichment (Handicrafts, Art Instruction, Nature Study)
For the family:
Make one day of the week a family day. This is a day for sports, field trips, or just staying home.
For yourself:
Find time in your day or once a week for mother culture. Schedule it and make it a priority.
Stuff I Like
ESV The Biggest Story Holy Bible for Kids: I love this Bible; it is like opening this magical book that sucks you in. The illustrations are beautiful, and they include Bible book introductions, maps, 680 highlighted keywords with definitions, key verses, and prompts to learn and apply Scripture.
YouTube Ambience: As I mentioned in my last post, I love having ambient music playing in the background. It also makes the TV look like a piece of art. You can find various ambient tracks on YouTube.
Cannelle et Vanille Bakes Simple: When I discovered I have celiac, I was saddened by the fact that my house would never smell like baked bread until I found Aran Goyaga, the author of multiple gluten-free cookbooks. If you are looking for a good gluten-free cookbook, she is the one.
