Summer Reading List 2022
Dear Mama,
We are finishing up our school year and will be slowing down. However, this doesn’t mean that we will stop reading and learning.
On our family book club list for the summer is Heartwood Hotel Series. This series is a fun read-aloud for children five and up. It is a four-book series about a fine hotel in the middle of a forest that hosts animals big and small.
Book One: A True Home
This book starts in the fall, where we meet a little mouse named Mona who needs a place to stay and ends up in a hotel in the Fernwood Forest. Here we learn about all the new friendships she creates.
Book Two: The Greatest Gift
In book two, Mona the mouse is a maid in the Heartwood Hotel, which she now calls home. In this book, we learn about he adventures during the winter as guests hibernate.
Book Three: Better Together
Spring has arrived, and Mr. Heartwood is going on vacation, leaving Mona the mouse in charge of the entire hotel. The question is, is she ready for such a task?
Book Four: Home Again
It is now summertime, and everyone at Heartwood Hotel is getting ready for Miss Prickle’s wedding. But a lightning strike strikes Heartwood Hotel, which starts a fire. The question is, can Mona and her friends save their home?
The book series has a website with more fun activities where you can go into deep dives about the characters, rooms in the hotel, and other fun activities.
We haven’t read this book series yet, but I’ve heard many good things about it. We are looking forward to it.
