Our Family Menu
Dear Mama,
One project last year was to create a family menu filled with our favorite recipes and recipes I really wanted to try.
Our menu is divided into different food styles, like Hispanic, Italian, Asian, etc. I also have our breakfast favorites and tea time favorites.
The menu includes the book and page number where the recipe can be found. I found this to be an easy way to meal plan. My husband loved the menu idea and will come around and choose a meal for the day using the menu. I plan to update it this year since I found a better way to organize it, and we didn’t actually try all the recipes I had added, and some weren’t hits.
I will admit that I don’t always invite my children to cook with me. I love doing it myself and know I need to improve in this area because cooking is a life skill.
They will come around and bake some food with me, and sometimes make smoothies with me. I know as time goes on, I’ll find a way to make their help a regular part of preparing a meal.
