Mother Culture Routine 2025
Dear Mama,
This January I started a new reading rhythm to help me get a wide feast of books into my schedule.
1. Bible/Apologetics: Monday through Thursday I read one chapter from the Bible and on Fridays I read one chapter from an apologetics book.
2. Non-fiction Book: After reading the Bible, I read/listen to a non-fiction book as I’m getting ready for the day.
3. Fiction: In the evening before going to bed, I read/listen to a chapter from a fiction book.
4. Educational Philosophy: On the weekends I read/listen to an educational philosophy book.
5. Purse reading: This year I plan to read a book that does not come with the audio version and keep it in my purse. This reading will only be completed when I’m waiting for an appointment.
6. Commonplace Journal: I will say, I really want to commonplace but haven’t found the right time slot to do so since moving. So, once I figure out the space, I will include this too.
So far after one week spacing out the books in this manner, this routine is serving me well. I really like the slower place of reading the Bible than reading it all in one year. I feel I get more out of it by going slow.
What does your mother culture look like this year?
Warmly,
Mirley
