How to select a good Bible for your Children
Dear Mama,
Interactive Bibles are significant. They help bring the text to life and spark conversation.
In my opinion, a child can receive their first Bible at the age of five. At that young age, children are excited to open the Bible and learn about God.
An interactive Bible includes maps, questions, pictures, study notes, and so much more; it not only brings the text to life but also shows its validity.
My favorite Bible for younger children is the ESV Following Jesus Bible. It includes maps, discussion questions, and beautiful pictures that keep children engaged.
For middle school and high school children, I highly recommend the CSB Apologetics Study Bible for Students. This Bible includes articles and blurbs that focus on current ideology. It explains what the Bible has to say about today’s hot topics.
When selecting a Bible, I focus on the translation, considering how closely it adheres to the original text and whether it is readable. I also look at how engaging it is. Am I learning something from it? Plain Bibles are not the best approach for our children. The Bible text is dense, and it is essential to have substance in the Bible that helps us understand it.
I hope this helps. Let me know in the comments which Bibles you love.
Warmly,
Mirley
