How to include your family in your homeschool
Homeschooling doesn’t have to be a one-person job. You can include your family in the process. Start with your husband. What skills or hobbies does your husband have that can be an elective for your children? Ask your children’s grandparents to help teach a skill that you may not know or be good at.
One of my dreams is to have a beautiful garden. What I’ve discovered about myself is that I want to sit or walk in the garden. I don’t enjoy getting my hands dirty and planting. In fact, I became overwhelmed when I started a garden. My husband is aware of my dream and has decided to take on the project.
With the help of my father-in-law, who works on farms, he and my husband put together a lovely little garden together. My children are now learning how to grow and care for plants. They are learning about where food comes from, and thankfully, they are at an age where it’s fun to get one’s hands dirty.
Gardening has become an elective in our home, and they are enjoying it. They actually love to eat the food that they harvest. It’s more fun that way, too.
