Dear Mama,
Notebooking is a process used after a lesson for students to show proof of learning using different skills.
Although right- and left-brain theory is now seen as a myth, both sides of the brain must activate to process and retell information.
Notebooking helps students learn to:
- analyze the information
- retell the information in a linear and sequential fashion
- learn the difference between fact and fiction
- be logical
- be creative
- be intuitive
- be artistic
- handwriting skills
- be imaginative
All of these skills are learned through notebooking.
Have you seen your student’s academic growth through notebooking?
Warmly,
Mirley
