Cultivating Friendships
Dear Mama,
When one moves every three years, cultivating friendships is hard. In fact, I must admit, I sometimes dread it because I know we’ll have to leave them after a while.
Regardless of that, I make an effort to get out there and make friends. How do I do that?
- I find a church with similar values.
- Meet fellow military homeschool moms and families.
- Participate in extracurricular activities.
When we move, I make a point of staying in contact with friends, sending them a Christmas card, and trying to call.
It’s hard, but I’m trying to teach my children that they have friends all over the country.
If you’re a military family, how do you start and keep friendships going?
Warmly,
Mirley
