Charlotte Mason Volume I Review
Dear Mama,
Last week, I finally finished Charlotte Mason’s Volume One, Home Education.
I was able to read it thanks to Cindy Rollins Patreon, where she reads it to you. It’s a nice read-aloud.
Miss Mason’s first volume was unlike any teaching method I have ever read. She focuses on the child rather than the process or system used.
This makes her approach unique because she recognizes that every child is different, and as the instructor, we must be able to tailor the instruction to each one. She understands the need for being outside, for being seen as a person and not just a commodity.
Her book is vibrant and sometimes challenging to understand, but in the end, it is very good. She acknowledges that the foundation for truth is the Bible. Her love for God is evident in the way she treats children.
I have five more volumes to go, but I’m really excited to see what I will learn. I saw a change in my parenting and teaching, which I am thankful for.
Warmly,
Mirley
