Bible Time is Self-care
Dear Mama,
Have you ever considered reading the Bible as a form of self-care?
Self-care is often presented as something you do for yourself. So it’s focused a lot of pretty fun stuff and you, which is why those activities only bring us temporary peace.
Today, I want to share an idea for self-care that brings you joy: reading the Bible.
Reading the Bible in the morning is the best way to start the day with Truth, Beauty, and Goodness.
When we focus our mornings on learning who God is and His attributes, we are bound to imitate Him. When we learn about how his people turned away from Him, yet He remained faithful, it gives us hope despite our own sins and shortcomings.
When we read the Bible, we learn about God’s steadfast love, how He is slow to anger, His gentleness, and His goodness. Before you know it, you are internalizing His joy and displaying the fruits of the Spirit.
There is no better self-care than reading the Bible.
Have you considered reading the Bible a form of self-care?
