Bible Time Duty
Dear Mama,
I was recently asked how I became so obsessed with all things Bible, including apologetics, worldviews, and controversial questions that needed to be answered.
I didn’t answer immediately, I just paused and thought. My answer came a week later. Here is what came to me.
As Christians, it is our duty to read, study, and pray in the Bible every day. We are learn more about God and Church history. We are studying difficult passages. We are to learn about God’s way. We are to learn and imitate God’s character.
Reading and studying the Bible should not just be left to Pastors. When we only open our Bibles on church days, our spiritual knowledge and curiosity can become lazy and wither. At that point, it is easier to be fooled by trends disguised as Christian-based when we haven’t taken the time to read and study the Bible ourselves.
Deuteronomy 6:4-9 tells us that we are to teach God’s commands diligently to our children. Therefore, we must make time to read and study God’s word daily. It is our duty.
In doing so, I pray that my children and your children have a strong foundation and love for our LORD.
How do you implement Bible Time in your home?
Warmly,
Mirley
