1st Grade Homeschool Curriculum for 2021-2022
Dear Mother-Teacher,
I’ve decided on my daughter’s first-grade curriculum. It took me a while, but I’m so glad to be done with it. I’ll list who and what I’m using below.
*Bible: I’m putting together my own Bible curriculum that will include a daily Bible reading, theology, church history, apologetics, logic, & other world views. I’m really excited to be putting this together. I look forward to sharing more about it in the future.
*History: our spine will be the Playful Pioneers by @thepeacefulpress. I’m so excited to use this curriculum. As a former history teacher, I believe this curriculum is the best history curriculum available because it is comprehensive. It includes living books, geography, art history, & recipes from the culture we’re studying!
*Art Study: For art study, we are using Morning Time by @brighterdaypress. Her approach to art is, in my opinion, the best and most complete. We’ll study musicians, famous artists, and poetry.
*Math: For math, we are using Math-U-See because it includes simple manipulatives that make learning math fun and straightforward.
*Science: for science, we are using Masterbooks @masterbooks because it includes apologetics that help cultivate a strong Biblical foundation.
*ELA: For ELA, we are continuing to use A Gentle Feast @agentlefeast because it teaches reading in the most engaging way I have ever seen. We look forward to our ELA lesson every day because of how this curriculum was designed.
I hope this post helps out some of you who are still looking for a Charlotte Mason-based curriculum. I use a little of everything, and this style works out the best for us.
Warmly,
Mirley
